Bnos Malka Academy welcomes Mrs. Ronit Weitzman as their new preschool director. Mrs. Weitzman comes with an impressive resume. She graduated from Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She received a master’s degree from Hunter College’s School of Education in Literacy Education. Before coming to Bnos Malka, the new director taught in a preschool classroom in Manhattan for ten years.

Rabbi Weichselbaum, Menahel at Bnos Malka, remarked, “Mrs. Weitzman was born to be an educator. From the minute she walked into the building, we could tell that she possessed the warmth, confidence, and leadership qualities that will, im yirtzeh Hashem, elevate our pre-school to the next level.”

Mrs. Weitzman described her educational philosophy: “I find myself reflecting on what I have gained from my ten years of teaching. Certain aspects of my teaching experience have emerged as my passions. Firstly, I love teaching literacy to young children in a dynamic and playful way. It is because of this passion that I chose to pursue my master’s degree in Literacy Education from Hunter College. Another important area of early childhood education is developing a positive social-emotional environment for my students. I put a lot of thought into the proper way to speak to children and to manage a classroom in a way that is both effective in keeping the proper decorum, and leaves students feeling confident and competent. It is my hope that I can bring these core values of mine into my new role as preschool director.”

Mrs. Rivky Babad, Bnos Malka elementary school Assistant Principal, explained, “Mrs. Weitzman’s warmth, experience, and understanding of developmentally appropriate practice are exceptional. Students, parents, and staff members felt comfortable with her right away. She is a perfect fit for the Bnos Malka family.”

Mr. Michael Salzbank, Bnos Malka Executive Director, commented, “Her education and experience made her a wonderful candidate, but it is her passion for preschool education and her personality that will make her an extraordinary preschool director. We are extremely fortunate to have her join the rest of our devoted and talented staff and to build upon our excellent preschool program.”

Mrs. Weitzman concluded with a simple thought: “I strongly believe that these early years of school are crucial in shaping our children to have a lifelong love of learning, and I am honored to be part of that journey.”
