MTA hosted programming to commemorate Yom HaShoah, enabling talmidim to engage in meaningful learning about the Holocaust, and lit six candles to honor the lives of the six million Jews who perished, Hy”d, whose memories will never be forgotten.
Talmidim also created a slideshow depicting powerful Holocaust imagery, as well as photos of family members who experienced the Holocaust. Earlier in the week, Seniors prepared for Yom HaShoah with a visit to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, where they learned about the vibrant Jewish communities that thrived in pre-World War II Europe. This experiential learning opportunity highlighted the strength, vitality, and dedication to Torah u’mitzvos that were prevalent in many cities throughout Europe and simultaneously demonstrated the vulnerability of the Jewish community.
They also explored a new exhibit displaying art created by Holocaust survivor Boris Lurie and participated in an interactive discussion with the museum’s Senior Director of Education, Dr. Paul Radensky.
