NewYork-Presbyterian Queens has achieved The Joint Commission’s Advanced Disease Specific Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. The program was recently recertified for two years.

NewYork-Presbyterian Queens underwent a rigorous onsite review. During the visit, a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with related certification standards. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. The reviewer also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“This recertification speaks to the advanced level of care that patients receive at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens,” explains Gary Bernardini, chair, neurology, NYP Queens.
