Fleetwood Synagogue joyously hosted a communal meal in honor of Shabbos HaGadol.
The day began with a special annual Shabbos HaGadol drashah by Rabbi Daniel Rosenfelt. This year’s topic explored why Shabbos HaGadol is always on the Shabbos before Pesach, contrasting with other Jewish holidays celebrated on specific dates. Everyone was then invited to the shul’s social hall for lunch together. The tables were filled with cholents, salads, various kugels, mini-hot dogs, and fruit and pastries for dessert. All the food was prepared in-house by the shul’s kitchen committee, a dedicated group of congregants who prepare and organize kiddushim and the communal meals. Fleetwood Synagogue also hosts communal meals on Simchas Torah, Shavuos, and Chanukah. Each meal is a wonderful opportunity to shmooze and enjoy the company of all in the community.
