Yaniv

This is Yaniv Sarudi. Eyewitness account: Yaniv picked up 9 fleeing and wounded people in his regular car along the way as they were being attacked by terrorists in southern Israel. He drove them to an IDF base, but that base was under Hamas control. He kept driving under constant fire and waited with the injured two more hours until IDF special forces arrived. He died from his injuries but saved 8 lives.

Amit

This is 21-year-old Amit Mann, a paramedic who went to save lives at Kibbutz Beeri. For six hours, she hid with bodies and wounded. She texted her family that she loved them and didn’t think she’d make it. The last words on the phone from Amit were “they’re on me! They shot my legs.” Her body was found with about 100 others.

 Itai and Hadar

Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky were 30 years old. They hid their 10-month-old twins in a shelter while terrorists broke into their home in Kibbutz Kfar Gaza. They tried to fight until the last moment, when they were murdered. The babies were alone in the shelter for about 13 hours until they were rescued.

Inbal

This is Inbal Lieberman, 25, the security coordinator of Kibbutz Nir Am. She heard gunfire and opened up the weapons stash, and grabbed volunteers one by one from their homes and put them in positions. All 25 terrorists were killed by the fence due to her heroism. The Kibbutz suffered no losses.

 Mor

This is Mor. A terrorist murdered her grandmother, recorded it on her grandmother’s cellphone, and then uploaded it to her grandmother’s private Facebook. The family found out her fate through that video watching her lying in a pool of blood.

 Natalie and Judith

This is 18-year-old Natalie Raanan and her mother Judith, from Chicago. They are two of the U.S. citizens taken to Gaza and held hostage by Hamas. They were both kidnapped while visiting family members.

Rachel

This is Rachel from Ofakim. She and her husband were held hostage by five terrorists in their home for 15 hours. She kept asking the terrorists if they want to eat or drink, distracting them with food and care while secretly signaling how many terrorists were in her home to the police officers outside (one of whom was her son). Thanks to her heroism, police were able to eliminate all the terrorists holding her hostage.

Bruna

 Bruna Valeanu, a Brazilian-Israeli student, was brutally murdered at the Re’im music festival. Her only family in Israel is her mother and sister. A message went out calling on strangers to attend her funeral to make sure they have a minyan—just ten men.

 From a high-ranking person at El-Al: On Monday, a Charedi man arrived at JFK Airport with a $500,000-limit credit card and paid for the plane tickets of anyone who showed him a reserve duty callup notice. He ended up paying for 250 tickets.
