Man Shot in Head on Roadway

The confines of the 107th Precinct are yet again dealing with the fallout from another shooting incident. At approximately 2:03 a.m. early Monday morning, on February 5, there was a shooting on the grounds of the Pomonok Houses at 67-02 Parsons Blvd. A male was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers in Public Service Area (PSA) 9 responded to the call on Parsons Blvd. by the 67th streets within the housing development. The NYPD reports that immediate medical care was provided by the responding police department officers until EMS made contact. The male was transported by the responding medics to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens on Main Street and Booth Memorial Avenue in grave condition.

Hate and hate crimes, once merely a threat, are visible now more than ever. Within this reality, it is incumbent on all of us to adapt and respond in a manner that combats it fiercely and keeps us safe.  Rising to the occasion, the Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula (JCCRP) and the RNSP (Shomrim) partnered to address the issue head-on, with a training event last Tuesday, February 6.
