The Queens Jewish community had the opportunity to host Rav Yitzchok Kolodetsky shlita this past week. During his brief but impactful visit, Rav Kolodetsky spoke at several shuls and yeshivos, spreading chizuk, ahavas haTorah, and ahavas Yisrael to crowds of people.
Amidst his busy schedule, Rav Kolodetsky made a point of visiting the Chazaq headquarters to see for himself the amazing work the organization is doing each day.
Rav Kolodetsky was warmly greeted by Rav Aharon Walkin, rosh yeshivah of the Chazaq Beis Midrash, Rav Ilan Meirov, Director of Chazaq, and Yaniv Meirov, CEO of Chazaq. After touring the office and giving brachos to Chazaq staff members, Rav Kolodetsky had a conference with Rav Walkin and Rav Meirov, where they shared divrei Torah and a few interesting stories about Rav Koledtasky’s illustrious father-in-law, HaRav HaGaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita.
Rav Kolodetsky remarked to Rav Meirov that everyone has a responsibility to get involved in bringing Jewish children back to Torah observance, adding that there are no boundaries to the amount of help a person can contribute to help Chazaq’s cause. Rav Kolodetsky recalled how Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman zt”l was already in his 80s when he started opening yeshivos for students in need of chizuk. It’s never too late to help, and no one can ever feel like they have done enough.
Rav Kolodetsky praised Chazaq for all the amazing work the organization is doing. In these troubling times, where so many Jews have turned away from Torah and mitzvos, Chazaq is passionately working to bring them all back.
Rav Kolodetsky stressed that people should be willing to break out of their comfort zone to help Chazaq inspire the approximately 10,000 boys and girls who are at risk of losing all connection to Judaism due to not receiving a Jewish education.
